Music at Southcote

As part of our teaching and learning of Music at Southcote we use Charanga which is an exciting online scheme following the new music curriculum. Charanga offers flexible eLearning which the children find engaging and fun! The children learn songs carefully selected for their relevant age group, including Hickory Dickory Dock in Foundation, Mamma Mia in year 4 and Livin’ on a Prayer in year 6!

Singing at Southcote

During the week we have singing assemblies where the children sing fun songs they know or learn new songs ready for our school church services which take place at various points of the year.

Mrs N’Jai runs Choir on Tuesday evening. This year the choir will be performing at both The Hexagon and The O2! The children in choir work incredibly hard to learn the songs for their performances as well as often performing at our school church services.

Mrs Cadden runs Mini-Choir on Wednesday evenings for children in years 1 and 2. This is a new choir which the children are really enjoying! They had their first performance at our church Remembrance Service and hopefully they’ll be more to come!

If your child is interested in joining either of the choirs, please speak to the staff member involved (Mrs N’Jai/Mrs Cadden).
